Recording System Audio
ScreenKite captures system audio directly through ScreenCaptureKit — no virtual audio drivers or third-party extensions required.
System audio is enabled by default. Toggle it in the Recording Hub or in Settings → Recorder.
Two Independent Audio Tracks
ScreenKite records system audio and microphone audio as separate tracks:
- System audio — saved as its own dedicated track
- Microphone — saved as its own dedicated track
This means you can adjust the volume of each independently in the Project Editor after recording.
Audio-Only Recording
ScreenKite also supports System Audio as a standalone recording mode — capturing audio without any video. This is useful for recording podcasts, meetings, or other audio content.
Select System Audio from the recording source options in the Recording Hub, or use the Record System Audio keyboard shortcut.
Real-Time Level Monitoring
During recording, the Recording Control Pill displays live audio level meters:
- Purple bar — system audio level
- Green bar — microphone level
Both update in real-time so you can verify your audio is being captured.
