Is editing manual or AI?
Both. Everything works by hand in the editor. AI is optional, and you see every change it makes.
Does ScreenKite charge for AI?
No. AI editing runs on the agent plan you already have, such as Claude Code, Codex, Grok or OpenCode. We add no AI fee.
Can I export subtitles as SRT?
Yes. Export can also write an .srt file next to the video. You can also burn the captions into the video.
Can I turn off analytics?
Partly. Go to Settings > General > Privacy and turn on "Disable third-party telemetry". This stops Google Firebase and Statsig. Crash reports and usage data go only to servers we run, and they stay on. Your recordings stay on your Mac. See the Trust page for the full list.
Can I try ScreenKite without signing in?
In the EU, yes. In other regions, this comes in the next version.
Can I import my own video, audio and images?
Yes. You can add your own video, audio and image files to the timeline.
Is ScreenKite native?
Yes. The Mac app is built with Swift and Metal. It is not Electron.
Is there a Windows version?
Windows is in beta. Join the Windows waitlist to get news.
How much does ScreenKite cost?
The free version is free. Exports carry a watermark and an outro. The Founders Edition is $99.99 one time. It covers 3 Macs and gives lifetime updates. It has a 14-day refund. We plan to stop selling it in early 2027.
Are there discount codes?
Students, teachers and school staff can apply for education pricing on the Education page. We do not run other public discounts.
How is ScreenKite different from Screen Studio, Loom and Tella?
ScreenKite is one native Mac app with a full multi-track editor. It has AI editing with your own agent, 3D mockups, a screenshot editor and Export for AI. You pay once, not every month. Those tools are good products. Choose the one that fits your work.
