This page lists every network service the ScreenKite Mac app talks to, what each one receives, and how you turn it off. Your recordings and projects stay on your Mac. None of the services below receives recording content.
The three privacy switches
All three are in Settings › General › Privacy in ScreenKite. Each takes effect after you restart the app.
- Disable third-party telemetry: stops Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics), PostHog, and Statsig. No connection to those companies is opened. Feature flags and launch notices fall back to built-in defaults.
- Disable crash reports: stops the Sentry server we host ourselves. It is not sentry.io. Google Crashlytics is a separate crash channel and is stopped by “Disable third-party telemetry”. With both switches on, the only way we learn about a crash is if you send feedback with diagnostics.
- Disable optional telemetry data: stops the video replay of the app's own windows that is attached to feedback you send.

Why we keep crash reports on by default
Crash and hang reports are the main way we find and fix bugs. We run the Sentry server ourselves so that data does not go to a third company. If you turn crash reports off, sending feedback with “Include diagnostic logs” ticked still gives us the recent crash reports macOS stored for the app. To stop every automatic crash channel, turn on both “Disable crash reports” and “Disable third-party telemetry”; then nothing about a crash leaves your Mac until you press Send.
