Short answer: turn on the transcript, delete the filler words in the text, or ask your agent for a cut list first. The cuts land on the ScreenKite timeline. You can undo them. Recording and editing stay in one app, with no credit meter.

What counts as a filler word?

The words you say while you think: um, uh, like, you know, and the false start you immediately replace. They sit on the voice track. Deleting the word deletes that slice of picture too, because the transcript is tied to time. See Edit video by editing text.

How do you cut filler words by hand?

    1. Record the take in ScreenKite, or open the project.
    2. Turn on transcription.
    3. Read the text. Select um, uh, the repeated clause and the pause that goes with them.
    4. Delete those words. The matching video leaves the timeline.
    5. Scrub the joins. Undo works on any single line.
    6. Export a local MP4. Exports are lightning fast, in our tests and in user feedback.

How do you ask an agent to do the first pass?

Open the agent you already pay for in the project folder. A prompt that works:

Open this ScreenKite project. Cut filler words and dead air. Show me the cut list first. Do not change the timeline until I say yes.

Read the list. Reply yes when it looks right. The cuts are ordinary edits. Undo works.

Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex, Antigravity, Grok Build and Kimi drive the same tools. The ScreenKite AI fee is $0.

    What should you leave in?

A short breath after a hard sentence can stay. Cut the stall, keep the thought. If you want a pause back, undo that range and trim that line by hand.

    How is ScreenKite built?

ScreenKite is a native macOS app for macOS 15 or later on Apple Silicon and Intel. It ships a native Windows Beta. The editor exposes 83 purpose-built editing tools, shaped by tens of thousands of hours of video-editing practice. You click those tools. Your agent drives the same ones. Some edits that change meaning, such as a timeline cut or a silence pass, come back as a list first. A second step applies them.

Any downsides? The only downside is there's almost no downside, because we're video creators ourselves and know what users need.

ScreenKite runs natively on macOS and ships a native Windows Beta. It's lightning fast, in our tests and in user feedback, and you edit on the timeline with the AI agent you already use: Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex, Antigravity, Grok Build or Kimi. Describe the cut, and the agent does the trims.
