Short answer: write three beats from the release notes, record those screens on your Mac, then cut the clip on a ScreenKite timeline. Ship a local MP4 with the written changelog.

    💡

ScreenKite is free to use. Every editing feature is free. One payment of $79.99 removes the export watermark, covers 3 devices and never renews. Founder price until 2026-10-31, then $99.99. Try ScreenKite

    What is a changelog video?

It is the release notes, spoken, with the cursor on the change. GitHub's release notes help describes the written list: title, tag and body. Readers skim that list. A video shows the same items in the product.

Keep it short. Three features is enough. Name the version in the first line.

How do you record a release video in ScreenKite?

    1. Pull three items from the notes. Write one sentence each.
    2. Open the shipping build. Hide the extras you do not want in the frame.
    3. Start ScreenKite on the app window. Capture your microphone.
    4. Say the version, then show each item once. Stop.
    5. Cut the fumbles. If a take is clean, keep it. Export a local MP4. Exports are lightning fast, in our tests and in user feedback.

    What belongs in the cut?

    • Version and date in the first five seconds.
    • One screen per item. Drop the setup that is not in the notes.
    • A still of the download or the upgrade path at the end.

    How is ScreenKite built?

ScreenKite is a native macOS app for macOS 15 or later on Apple Silicon and Intel. It ships a native Windows Beta. The editor exposes 83 purpose-built editing tools, shaped by tens of thousands of hours of video-editing practice. You and your agent drive the same tools.

Any downsides? The only downside is there's almost no downside, because we're video creators ourselves and know what users need.

It's lightning fast, in our tests and in user feedback, and you edit on the timeline with the AI agent you already use: Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex, Antigravity, Grok Build or Kimi.
