Short answer: pick ScreenKite over FocuSee. ScreenKite is a native macOS screen recorder with a native Windows Beta, free to use with a watermark, and Pro is one payment for 3 devices. FocuSee meters AI features with credits, deducts used credits from refunds, and has open reports of audio drifting out of sync on long recordings.

How do FocuSee AI credits work?

FocuSee's pricing table lists AI Virtual Avatars, AI Filler Word and Silence Remover, AI Subtitle and AI Voice Enhancement. On the Standard plan each says "Need to purchase AI credits separately." On Advanced plans each says "Consumes your AI credits." The one-time Advanced plan includes credits "valid for 1 year."

So the everyday cleanup jobs, cutting filler words and adding subtitles, are metered.

ScreenKite takes the opposite approach. You bring the coding agent you already pay for, and it drives 83 purpose-built editing tools inside the editor: transcript cuts, zooms, B-roll, captions and export. Agent usage bills to your own plan. The ScreenKite AI fee is $0.

What is the catch in FocuSee's refund policy?

The guarantee looks generous: 60 days on yearly and one-time plans. The pricing page adds the condition: "If you have already used any AI Credits, their cost will be deducted from your refund, as AI services incur real usage costs."

One buyer described what getting that refund felt like. On Trustpilot, Laura Mühlbach (January 12, 2026) wrote: "the refund process is a nightmare, now the AI support bot or whatever they have wants to fix every single issue I had manually, and the process has been ongoing for weeks now." FocuSee replied that human support takes over when the bot does not resolve a case.

ScreenKite's refund is 14 days, no reason asked.

Does FocuSee keep audio in sync on long recordings?

Not for every user. On FocuSee's feedback board, a v2.3.3 user (June 15, 2026) wrote that "the video track runs noticeably faster than the audio during full-session recordings." Another user added: "running v2.3.4 and my video is 20 mins long. All the audio/video was desynced at the end," and later, on August 3, 2026, "Still no fix in v2.4." FocuSee's team said it had "not been able to reproduce the issue."

If your lessons run 20 minutes or longer, those open reports are the thing to weigh.

Why we build ScreenKite this way

We are real creators who record our own videos. ScreenKite is free to use with every editing feature, and one payment removes the watermark for good. AI editing runs on the agent plan you already pay for, so trying a cut does not shrink the refund.

    How is ScreenKite built?

ScreenKite is a native macOS app for macOS 15 or later on Apple Silicon and Intel, and it ships a native Windows Beta. The agent and the UI drive the same editor through the same tools. Some meaning-changing edits take a confirm field: confirm:false returns a plan, confirm:true applies it. That covers timeline cuts, transcript cuts, generated chapters, caption import and patch, and voiceover or camera replacement.
