    ScreenKite for iOS Privacy Policy

    Last Updated: October 26, 2026

    1. Overview

This policy applies to the ScreenKite for iOS app. The ScreenKite macOS app and website are covered by the main ScreenKite Privacy Policy.

Your content stays on your device. Recordings, imported images and videos, and editable project files are processed and stored locally. The app has no account system and does not upload this content to ScreenKite servers.

    2. Permissions and system features

    • Importing from Photos: Apple's system Photos picker lets you choose specific items and exposes only those items to the app. Saving an edited image or video uses add-only Photos permission, requested when needed.
    • Camera: You can capture an image with the camera to edit in the app. Camera access is requested for this feature.
    • Screen recording and microphone: Recording starts through Apple's ReplayKit system broadcast picker. Microphone audio is optional and controlled through the system recording interface.
    • Sharing and saving files: When you share or export, Apple's share sheet, Photos, or Files handles the destination. Those services may use iCloud according to your settings; ScreenKite does not upload your files.
    • Support email: If you email support, your email app and provider handle the message and anything you include. The app does not send support emails automatically.

    3. Product analytics

The app sends limited, anonymous usage events to an analytics server that we operate ourselves (rusthg-api.rockiestar.com, compatible with PostHog). This data is not sold or used for advertising.

    • Collected: app opened and backgrounded, recording started and stopped, and export completed or failed, with a coarse duration range, the app version, and a random installation identifier.
    • Not collected: your recordings, images, file names, project content, or location. No person profiles, session replay, or location lookup are used, and the app does not track you across other apps or websites.

    4. ScreenKite Pro purchases

ScreenKite Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment. We never receive your payment card details or your Apple Account name or email address.

    • Checking Pro on your device: The app reads your App Store purchases on the device to decide whether exports carry the ScreenKite watermark. This check does not use our servers.
    • First-year offer: When you buy the yearly plan, the app sends Apple's signed app transaction to screenkite.com so we can check whether the first-year discount applies. We store Apple's app transaction identifier and the time of the first request.
    • Purchase notifications from Apple: Apple sends us signed notices about purchases, renewals, cancellations, and refunds. We store Apple's transaction identifiers, the product, purchase and expiry dates, price and currency, storefront country, offer type, and refund status.
    • Why we use it: to apply the first-year offer once per Apple Account, to answer support requests about your purchase, and to monitor refunds and abuse. It is not linked to the analytics identifier above, and it is not used for advertising.

To manage or cancel a subscription, or to request a refund, use your Apple Account settings or reportaproblem.apple.com.

    5. Your rights and contact

Your rights, data retention, and international transfers are described in the main ScreenKite Privacy Policy. For questions or requests about this app, contact [email protected]. To find your purchase records, include the order ID from your App Store receipt email.
