Muse AI vs Muse Code vs Muse Spark for Creators

Muse AI is Meta's consumer personal agent. Muse Code is the terminal coding agent. Muse Spark is the model family. For screen demos, BYO Muse Code into ScreenKite's local MCP, not Muse AI chores.

Muse AI vs Muse Code vs Muse Spark for Creators

    The short version

Meta ships three names that get mashed together in creator chats:

    NameWhat it isPrimary surface
Muse AI (Muse)Consumer personal AI agentmuse.ai, apps, WhatsApp. US launch narrative per Meta's announcement
Muse CodeTerminal / CI coding agentCLI: muse, muse exec. docs
Muse SparkModel family (e.g. muse-spark-1.2)Powers Muse Code and Model API. docs, blog

They are not synonyms. Muse AI ≠ Muse Code ≠ Muse Spark.

For screen demos and tutorials, the match is bring-your-own Muse Code to ScreenKite local MCP + CLI on a multi-clip timeline. That is not Muse AI booking travel, and it is not computer-use on a finishing NLE.

    Muse AI: consumer personal agent

On 2026-09-08 Meta introduced Muse, a personal AI agent aimed at everyday goals and connected apps, rolling out in the US on iOS, Android, and muse.ai (Meta Newsroom). That product is for consumer task work in Meta's personal-agent surface.

It is the wrong mental model for "recut my product demo timeline." Do not point a consumer personal agent at your .skbundle and expect ScreenKite's 83 editing tools.

    Muse Code: terminal coding agent

Muse Code is Meta's coding agent for the terminal and CI, with approvals and an OS sandbox on from the first run. Install (macOS/Linux per docs):

    curl -fsSL https://dev.meta.ai/install.sh | sh
    muse --version

Interactive: muse in a project. Headless: muse exec "...". Auth via browser or API key; CI uses META_API_KEY (auth). It extends with MCP via mcp_servers in settings (stdio or streamable_http). Meta warns: MCP tools are not sandboxed (extending).

Default model in the docs: muse-spark-1.2.

    Muse Spark: the model family

Muse Spark is the model line. Muse Code and the Model API are two ways to use the same model family (overview). Meta's build-with-muse-code post pairs Muse Spark 1.2 with Muse Code and describes expanded global access for Muse Spark in Muse Code / Model API. That is a model/access statement, not a Muse AI consumer rollout map.

For pricing, check Meta's live Model API / Muse Code pricing pages rather than guessing a subscription dollar figure.

What creators should use for screen demos

    JobUse
Personal tasks, connected consumer appsMuse AI (where available)
Code / agent workflows in terminal or CIMuse Code
Model ID / API callsMuse Spark via Model API or Muse Code
Recut UI takes, VO, captions on a Mac timelineScreenKite + BYO coding agent (Muse Code via local MCP, or featured catalog agents)

ScreenKite featured catalog agents in copy: Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex, Antigravity, Grok Build, Kimi. Muse Code is a BYO coding agent over local MCP/CLI. ScreenKite does not ship Muse Code in the product agent picker.

    How ScreenKite fits Muse Code

    1. Record the UI path in ScreenKite (.skbundle).
    2. Keep the editor open: 83 MCP tools on local HTTP/SSE loopback per window.
    3. Configure Muse Code mcp_servers to that local endpoint (details from ScreenKite's AI Agent / MCP UI).
    4. Ask for confirm:false plans on named cuts (edit-timeline cut, edit-words silence/filler actions, etc.), then confirm:true when you want the apply call.
    5. Export local MP4. Free tier includes watermark + animated outro; Pro removes them.

Third-party MCP clients are not gated by ScreenKite's Core Agent chat panel. Treat propose and commit as two calls when the action supports confirm.

The fastest editor for AI: 83 purpose-built tools, shaped by tens of thousands of hours of video-editing practice, so your agent and you waste less time and money.
