Short answer: record in ScreenKite, export an MP4, and share links via your Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive. The file stays yours. The viewer gets a link from a drive you already pay for.

Why share a file instead of a Loom link?

Loom users post their complaints in public. On r/Entrepreneur, thexshivam (March 24, 2026) wrote: "i stopped using the loom app because it kept killing my cpu and crashing mid-take." In the same thread, olieidel (July 5, 2026) looked for an alternative "when Loom got bought by Atlassian and hiked their prices". More in Loom alternative for Mac.

A local recording is an MP4 on your disk. You upload that file to a drive you already use, then copy the share link. See How to migrate from Loom to a local recorder.

How do you share a ScreenKite recording?

    1. Record the take in ScreenKite. Cut it on the timeline.
    2. Export a local MP4. Exports are lightning fast, in our tests and in user feedback.
    3. Drop the file in Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive.
    4. Copy the share link from that drive. Send the link in the same Slack thread or email you would have used for Loom.

The viewer watches in the drive's player, or downloads the MP4. You keep the project on your computer if you need a second cut.

What if the viewer needs a shorter cut?

Open the same ScreenKite project. Trim. Export again. Replace the file on the drive. The share link can stay the same when the drive lets you replace in place.

Ask Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex, Antigravity, Grok Build or Kimi to remove dead air before you upload. The ScreenKite AI fee is $0.

    How is ScreenKite built?

ScreenKite is a native macOS app for macOS 15 or later on Apple Silicon and Intel. It ships a native Windows Beta. The editor exposes 83 purpose-built editing tools, shaped by tens of thousands of hours of video-editing practice. You and your agent drive the same tools.

Any downsides? The only downside is there's almost no downside, because we're video creators ourselves and know what users need.

ScreenKite runs natively on macOS and ships a native Windows Beta. It's lightning fast, in our tests and in user feedback, and you edit on the timeline with the AI agent you already use: Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex, Antigravity, Grok Build or Kimi. Describe the cut, and the agent does the trims.
